New mobile rig is complete for now....
« on: 8 Feb 2013, 04:35 am »
When I saw the latest Nano's I decided to get a new mobile rig together....
 1) ipod NANO (latest)
 2) Fiio E07 Andes USB DAC/Amplifier
 3) Ultimate Ears UE500 IEM's (lastest in my collection) or Sennheiser CX485 IEM's or whatever model I own that strikes me at the time.

I did the whole new setup for under $290 (Nano + E07 + UE500's) and I'm really happy with the combo. Very musical, very dynamic, and the music's feeling translates immediately to my ears...amazing how musically accurate the combo sounds. I have never had a better mobile sound I don't think and it was chicken feed to buy...gotta love that!!!

DAC/Amp was last piece that came today so I'll report back when I can really sit and listen to it a bunch of times but 1st impressions are very favorable.

Looks like a nice setup! Does the amp weigh much?
Congrats on putting that together!

Not super heavy, but its not light either. I have it mated up today with a 2nd gen ipod touch and on a thick zip up hoodie I was wearing today the pocket is noticeably sagging....I have no way to weigh it for you.

** the manual with it says 102 grams as its weight.

It sounds excellent to my ears by the way.  :thumb:

Thanks for the info. Was wondering if was useable when running or biking.
Think I will order one and give it a try.

I owned the E7, which headphone amp section was weak. I can say the Andes version is a worthy upgrade, fun sounding more features and goes well with almost every headphone.

I am really enjoying this E07 Andes DAC/Amp it is very musical. The combination of my ASUS tablet (TF300), the Amperiors and this dac/amp is very, very good. I listened to a bunch of new releases last night on MOG with this setup. My toes were tappin while I worked over my ottomon with some drumsticks I had handy!!! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

I really enjoy the Fiio stuff, I've never gotten a bad sounding piece since I found the little E5, E11 then E17 and now the E07-all sounded great to me. I only have the E11 and this new piece now because I love trying new stuff and my budget is like a minus number....LOL.
They have some new stuff coming as always, I hope they follow through with the DAP they were talking about on head-fi.
