I went 5 pages back and didn't see anything on it so I might be the only sci-fi guy here but I'm sure thats not true.
I love sci-fi, its the majority of film I watch and enjoy and I've seen most of them or plan on it. That being written I liked this take on the story better than the 1st one myself.
 Both are taken from a story put out there sometime back and each is a different take or treatment of the story. This one was enjoyable, quick paced and fun to watch. Great looking actors all around, no stupid nude scenes for the sake of having one just action with great special effects. I dug it and own a copy on BD, the future could be like that or not but the housing situation I can see for sure.......anybody else like it?????

Mixed bag IMO. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be (not much of a recommendation)

Not enough story and too much action. Seems to be a pet peeve of mine these days (maybe I'm getting old). If you can't come up with a decent plot twist, extend the chase scenes and have the heros dodge a few more bullets.

I saw one comment that I liked - it's a long sci-fi movie about an elevator (with some chases and bullets thrown in).

Good bass on the audio side.

I haven't seen this remake, but I enjoyed the original. I especially liked the possibility of the whole thing being a dream, implanted by Recall.  It gave you something to think about while you watched Arnold and his adventure on Mars.  Sharon Stone was great, as was most of the cast.  What's not to like, the mutant with 3 tits was offensive?  Not every movie is an intellectual tour d force, some are just fun or exciting.
I would give the original 5          things for being a great classic SF adventure.  Does the remake live up to that?

Not even close. If you like "chase" movies, you will probably like this one.

The 3 breasted lady might not have been necessary, but definitely added to the appeal of the movie.  It was probably responsible for additional box office sales and that scene is now a classic.  It was even referred to on The Big Bang Theory.  Our cultural heritage would be diminished if they cut her out of the film, LOL.

  I'm with you on the 4 dancing sunglasses guy!  Loved this version, loved the first one too.  Nice update IMO.  A gratuitous nude scene with Kate Beckinsale would have been 100% okay with me  , but no worries without.  I thought that the dialogue with his buddy in the lobby area dragged on a bit longer than necessary, but other than that I like the pacing of the film. 
   The older version is/was a classic and is one of my favorite films from my youth.  The three boobies would have been missed if not included.  I can't say that I would have liked this one as much as I did if I had never seen the first one, and wasn't so enamored with Kate.     But as it is I ponied up and bought the Blu-Ray as well.

The PKD short story was great.
The Arnie movie was a bit too long.
The remake was way too long.
Trinaural boobs?  What's not to like.

Gotta say that despite the impressive visuals, I found the original more entertaining and ultimately more satisfying despite being somewhat cheesier.  Perhaps just being nostalgic.  As previously mentioned, a lot of motion & noise signifying little - though the original was not particularly heavy on the dialogue. 

I think not setting it in Mars like the original was also kinda of cop out. 

Is it only me that thinks that the whole elevator invasion threat was absurd? Why did it only occur to Colin to bomb the elevator and halt the invasion vs the millions on the other end? Makes even the 3 minute terraforming "miracle" at the end of the original more believable.

Pros : Impressive visuals,  Kate Beckinsale (got this ruthless terminator vibe going)
Cons : Wooden / plastic performance from lead actors, overly talky confrontation scene w/ friend (killed the momentum)

The trinaural breast thing was apparently one of the first questions / requests when they pitched the remake.  You can also spot an homage to the original in the security check scene ("two weeks" fat lady), though they wink at the fans by making that not turn out to be the protagonist.
