Selling my mint condition Oppo DV-983H featuring the basic modification from ASi Teknologies.  I'm the original owner, purchased directly from Douglas Jesse at ASi Tek.  Details of the mod are available here: http://asi-tek.com/Oppo6.html  I used the player with my Meridian G68ADV so it does NOT have the clock upgrade or 2 channel rebuild.  The ASi Tek mods take this great sounding player to whole new level.

I've had a few inquiries so I thought I should elaborate...

When I purchased the DV-983H, I was using it just for music and movies via the S/PDIF output and wanted the best sound possible so I contacted Douglas at ASi Teknologies and he optimized the unit for digital output.  A couple years later I upgraded to the Oppo BDP-83 (and later to the BDP-95) so I moved the DV-983H to my bedroom and used the analog outs in my bedroom system.  It sounded fantastic.  I've since replaced it with a decent blu-ray player (the Sony BDP-S790) and while the picture is better, the Oppo blows it away sound wise.  It's not even close; I no longer can listen to CDs in the bedroom but my wife want to be able to watch blu-ray movies upstairs 

So the DV-983H would be ideal for someone looking for top-notch transport or a very good sounding CD player, with excellent performing DVD playback as a bonus.  Let me know if you have any other questions.
