My AVA piece conked out...
« on: 4 Oct 2012, 04:00 pm »
Yes, now I can't make it work.
When I upgraded to my FV 400r amp, Frank sent a little LED flashlight with it.  Now, with 3 new batteries it dunt work...I don't think Frank made the flashlight, though.

But on the plus side, I have recently started upgrading my DIY 3-way speakers, putting in Seas Excel M15CH002 mids & Seas Prestige 26RFXP woofers (kept my Dynaudio d28/2 tweet).  I also put junk on the frames like Frank said (don't know if this did anything)!  Both gave me a very nice improvement.  And the AVA 400r amp kept right up with them, able to give what is needed to hear what these hi-end drivers can offer.  Can't wait until I get my xover re-done!
Way to go, Frank & crew! (& sorry for the subject title; just having fun....)

Frank gave all his elves one of those flashlights last year (I think) for Christmas. Mine still works. Check the polarity of each battery as it is confusing and you may have one battery backwards......

Hi Wayner,
The polarity is good, and the strange part is that with 2 new batteries it worked, but 3 new batteries killed it.  No battery combo is bringing it back now.

Oh well, I think my FV400r will never break cause you  folks made it (I've looked inside)!

Strange, but my flashlight won't work with fancy alkaline batteries, but only old style cheap batteries...then it works fine!
