Just wondering...  What clearance is needed by different bryston compenents.    Is it different for the SP3 and the amps?  Is it different for the monoblocks compared to the 4B-SST2,  and different again for the 6B-SST2 or the 9B-SST2?

Are the older models needing more or less space?

I realise that the manual will have a minimum specification,  but how different is that from recommended distance,  and is there an even more generous optimum distance?

Hi,

With source components like Preamps, DAC's and CD Players BDP-1 etc. there is really not much concern.

The main issue is with components that need to disapate a lot of internal heat. 

So with amplifiers you want to make sure that you have airflow over the heatsinks - which in Bryston's case is convection cooling.

I found that I needed a lot of open air space above my SP 1.7 as it would get noticeable hot if I didn't.  I could not stack any gear on top of it.
