Do you think these are strong enough to support another, full with LPs (a few hundred pounds), on top of it?  I figure I'd need 4 to fit my collection but would have to stack them.

The top, base, and sides are all 1.25" thick so I would think it might be safe. I haven't tried though I so can't honestly say. If you put the supplied front to back length footers on, the weight should be all along the top edge down the sides. If you chose to not attach the footers, the weight would be distributed over the thinner cube sections as well. It might handle it, but if the bottom piece had the attached footers, then I'd definitely add something under the base. Hope that isn't as confusing as it reads.

If I remember correctly I had less than $100 in both of these bookcases from Big Lots.
This included buying materials to make sturdier due to the weight of the LPs. The cost
of both bookcases was $63.00

Now that is a catastrophic failure!

Thanks for the info Kevin.  I think if I go with these I'll reinforce the bottom one just so i can sleep at night.  Probably cross bracing in the back and extra footers and the like.
