Most expensive speakers. (But not vintage)
« on: 6 Nov 2012, 12:37 pm »
Hi all Audio Circle members.

Five millions Euro (5,000,000 Euro) for a pair of speakers.

Can you believe it ?

You will believe it if I tell you that they are gold plated.

Yes, gold plated.

Who would want to buy a apir of gold plated speakers ? ? ?

That's easy to answer.

Some nuts with too much money, that he does not know what to do with it.

That's the kind of person that wants to buy
a pair of gold plated 5,000,000 Euro speakers.

I wonder what profit margin the retailler gets out of that ?

My guest would be 500,000 Euro ? ? ?

This might belong in the some other circle (puzzlingly, there is no generic Speaker circle   )

I agree, only an idiot would buy these

Hey, no problem, thanks for noticing us.   :icon_lol:

And thanks to Steve for moving the topic.

Guy 13, could you translate some of the ad copy from the picture you posted?  Whatever you think relevant or interesting, special claims, specs, anything you like.  Thanks.

1kW amplified speakers that only go to 40 Hz. $7.4M USD for the 18 karat gold version. :duh:

Here's a write up. Here's the manufacturer's website. I coudn't find specs there.

I'm off to figure out the price to fill my bathtub with gold plating solution...

Have fun,

Jerry

Hi Letitroll98 and all Audio Circle members.

Jerry M supplied the link to the information on the gold plated speaker.

Thanks Jerry M, you are saving me lots of trouble, since my Vietnamese sucks...

Even after 17 years on planet Vietnam.

Letitroll98 do you want more information to see if your interest in those jewels will increase.

I am sure it would be difficult to get the WAF.

Thanks guys, the most interesting thing is that there will be only one pair of Gold speakers made.  I'm sure the line will around the block at release time.  But do not despair, they'll be offering 99 in Bronze at a bargain basement pricing of $93k, and another five in Silver at only $444k.

The real selling point for me is that you can plug your Ipod directly into the speaker.  Will wonders never cease.
