What would you charge just to put the new 4-pole power supply cap in the XR45? I'm confident I can handle the other mods myself and I like the small sense of accomplishment it brings to know "I did that".

The amount of time and labor to pull the PS board just to install the 4-pole cap doesn't work out for me. It would be just as easy, while I had the board out, to do all the rest of the PS mods.

There have been other requests for partial mods. I am somewhat reluntant to do this as the mods I have come up with are a very synergistic match.

Just changing the power supply without changing the wiring and connectors would not show off what the Panny could really do. The same thing appplies for just the wiring and connectors without the PS mods.

I really do understand the feeling of being able to DIY part of your gear. I really felt a great deal of accomplishment when I just sanded and finished my Teres 255 base and armboard. :D

What I am hesitant about, is I have been burned with some DIY efforts with the ART DI/O mods. I have had units sent to me that I had been told were modded "just like" the smART DI/O and found different brands of resistors, caps and really bad soldering.

I will make this offer to anyone interested in DIY or partial mods. I MIGHT be willing to do a partial mod on the Panasonic SA-XR45 or 25. The cost would be about $350.00 for either the Power Supply board mod or the Output board, wire and connector mod.

IF you decide to do any of the additional mods yourself, all warranty on my mods would be void. I will not supply any parts for mods.

If you want to me to upgrade your Panny slowly, one mod step at a time, it will cost you more than doing it all at once. $350.00 for PS. $350.00 for output and connectors and $150.00 for analog and digital input mods.

I will wait to see if there is any interest in this concept before I add these options to the website.

I have decided to go ahead and offer a couple of partial mods for both the SA-XR25 and SA-XR45.

The first is to change the power supply inlet to a Furutech IEC, modify the PS board to accept the connector and to remove all the stock speaker wiring and connectors. I will replace them with NITRO 14 AWG wire and Direct Gold Plated binding posts. The price for this is $350.00. It includes 5 pair of binding posts.

The next mod is to rebuild the stock power supply board. This involves removing the main power supply caps and modifying the board to accept a Jensen four pole cap. I also replace many of the electrolytic caps on this board with Nichicon Muses series caps. I replace power supply diodes with Hex-FREDs. I also replace the low voltage power supply wiring with 18 awg solid core NITRO wire. This mod also includes the Furutech IEC change over. The price for this mod is also $350.00.

These mods can be done to either the SA-XR25 or 45.

Here is a LINK to the Website.

If you go with the FULL mod you would also get changes to the analog board, digital input and board mods and output circuitry mods. All this for only $750.00 for the HT mod
