Anyone sold their Ipod after getting Iphone?
« on: 18 Jul 2012, 07:49 pm »
About 8 months ago, I purchased an Ipod Classic as I wanted to take advantage of my 2010 Maxima's Ipod cababilites.

Long story made short...my Ipod has been gathering dust since I finally ditched my Blackberry for a new Iphone 4S.

I still have the old unlimited data plan that Verizon offers(for now) and I am having a ball streaming Pandora while I drive.  :thumb:

Just was curious if anyone else is just using their Iphone for Itunes/pandora and foregoing their other mobile devices(notice that the word "vice" is in devices ).

Regards,

Randy

I just keep the ipod classic in the car and use it there exclusively.  In my case I like having my Iphone to use without the car system, a bit less cumbersome than the car system.  Still freaks me out when the phone rings, for a few seconds I'm still confused about what is happening and what button to press etc...

I use my Iphone for radio streaming (sports) 90% of the time while on the go through my Bluetooth earpiece.  I would agree that Pandora, MOG etc... are just wonderful and does make carrying your own library for portable or casual listening almost pointless and well worth a few bucks a month to hear almost whatever you want, whenever you want, wherever you want.

My iPod has been collecting a little more dust since a fellow AC'er told me about MOG.

I had a iPod Touch, which I gave to my son instead of selling when I got my iPhone.

I use the iPhone the same way I used the iPod Touch. Listen to podcasts and MOG on it. I haven't put any of my music collection on it. I go through music to quickly to be bothered to continuosly sync with iTunes.

Love AC!   I ask one question and find out about MOG.  :thumb:

Went to their website and it looks very cool.  My brother just bought a new car with Ipod connectivity as well.  I just might give him my Ipod (well maybe...)

My wife owns the iPhone, so no!

I use the Touch as the source in the basement, using an Audioengine A2.

MOG looks great.  Somebody ping me when they will service Canada!

Just signed up for MOG.  Very easy to use and you have an option of streaming and storing high quality music.  Not sure of the format, but sounds very good through my HiFi Man REO headphones.  Now for bluetooth enabled head unit for my Maxima, I'll be set.

I actually bought an iPod classic recently for my car, and also use sometimes connected to my Pure 20 doc.  It has good storage capacity at a lower price.

I've been in the market for a new iPod, had a free afternoon recently, and listened to all the Apple audio devices through a pair of Etymotic in-ear monitors at the local Apple store. What I found is that the two far-and-away best sounding devices, and not by a subtle margin, were the iPhone 4S and... the 6G Nano. Perhaps not surprising, because they were the last two to be introduced. I was planning on an iTouch, but it sounded quite flat and gray by comparison. I ended up with a 16G Nano, since I don't need a phone, but the 4S sounded identical.
