So, how did you spend your morning?

Did you ever have one of those things that drives you insane for hours?
The Brystons are going off for service and it cooled down enough to hook up my beloved VTLs and I need to make some CD-Rs for Brooklyn (sorry for the lengthy delay, by the way).
Put on the album and one channel is really low.  Ahh, crap.
Do I have the same problem with the radio?  Nope.
Maybe it's a bum tube in the phono stage so I spend forever swapping tubes around, no difference, maybe a bum cable so I swap cables all around, no difference, fun and games.
Take the Jolida JD9 downstairs and it works perfectly.
Crap, this stereo junk is going to drive me to drink.
Back upstairs and it's gotta be the turntable.
I remove the cartridge clips, spray everything with contact cleaner, reconnect and several hours later, back in bidniss.
Now to just clean up the mess I made and back to these CD-Rs.
I must admit, the sound of Zappa's Charlie's Enormous Mouth coming through the 1.7s here does make it all worthwhile.

Sleeping til 10, unpacking and de-trashing the car I lived in for the past 10 days (family wedding on the East Coast).  Heading to the office to get my new upgraded Jolida phono pre.

Will hunker down to watch my Ravens and Orioles, and carefully start in on my bag of Balmer gastronomical delights........

Berger Cookies
Utz Chesapeake Crab-flavored potato chips
Goldenberg Peanut Chews (original DARK chocolate, not the wimpy milk chocolate)
TastyKake Butterscotch Crimpets, fruit pies and cupcakes.

All washed down with Diet Coke.

Will post info on two great used LP stores (and purchases) in the Baltimore area, hook up the phono pre, and do just enough laundry to get me through tomorrow.

The damned bird is at the pet "resort" so it's a whole day of no squawking from EITHER direction.   :thumb:

While I was waiting for the weather to warm up I posted ads on Audiogon and Audio Circle to raise cash for new toys.  OH heck, who am I kidding. I am just selling the stuff I promised myself I would sell to pay for the last toys I bought.

Just about to jump on my Merlin and visit the local bike trail.

Slept in, woke up, made coffee, listened to Bach.  Don't you just love it when the system sounds so good that you don't have the urge to tweak or change anything?  And when it stays like that for weeks (or months).

I spent the morning cleaning up the flood under the kitchen sink occasioned by the plumber's failure to cap the "Y" on the drain. (#&$)@(

I got up at O'Dark thirty, made a pot of coffee, retrieved the newspaper from the front lawn and lit Padron 3000.
