Dear all,
I am planning to buy a used Bryston 14BSST amp on ebay. The amp has a black 19" faceplate. I would like to change the faceplate to silver to match my BP25DA. The importer of Bryston products in France just informed me that he will charge me 560 euros (700 US dollars) plus about 120 euros (150 US dollars) shipping. I find that paying 850 US dollars for faceplate change is excessive. Therefore, I am considering the alternative of asking a friend in Canada to order and send me a silver faceplate to France and to do the faceplate shift myself. Do any of you have done it in the past? Do I need special tools to change the faceplates?

I spoke to Production and they tell me the chassis is different on the 14B 17 and 19 so there are no faceplate changes available on that model.

I was interested in seeing the answer on this one because I have been thinking about a change on my 7BSST2 (going from 17" to 19").  Does your response apply to the 7B also or just the 14B?
