Looking for opinions on the Khartuago amp.

I've read the Soundstage review. Now I'm wondering if there are any owners hear who have had the amp for awhile? [the 2 channel version] I can't find it on the Odyssey website, is this amp still being manufactured? I would be using one with a Rogue 66 tubed preamp. Good match?

Merle, I just been listening to a dem unit that arrived today, and I have to say I'm suprised just how good it sounds already, driving the M Logans with little fuss, straight from the box. Have a look at one of the other sites' such as:
www.odysseyaudiomx.com
www.odysseyaudiosg.com
www.odysseyaudiohk.com
Input impedance is 10k and so whether it matches your rougue depends on how far off it's ouput impedance is from the Khartargo, I dont think sensitivity will be an issue here 8)

It occured to me that maybe you meant sonically a good match. Lots of Odyssey owners using valve pre's from what I've read, but how can you know these things until you try them. It may work fantastically well, or it may not. This is precisely how happy accidents happen.

Merle, if you are anywhere near NYC you can experience their sonic qualities at the HE2004.  www.he2004.com

So is there nobody on the Odyssey forum who actually owns a Khartargo?

Merle,

I don't own the Khartago, but I've heard them.  They are very nice amps.
The Stratos is just a tad nicer IMO.  The more you spend with Odyssey the nicer the stuff, as it should be.

They are still being made, the problem is Klaus is not the most knowlageable Internet guy and doesn't update his webpage very often.

You should call him at 317-299-5578 to discuss the compatibility of your equipment with his.

I have had a pair of the Khartago monos for around 2 weeks now.  Very nice amps.  Lots of nice, instantaneous power.  I have 4 ohm speakers and these amps can drive them very well.  I will, hopefully, post a complete review this weekend.

I bought one of the first 3 retail units Klaus offered last year and was impressed at the build quality and sonics at its price point. Didn't come across as powerful as the a NAD C270 we had in the house at that time but offered up more detail and IMHO did a better job across all the frequencies. NAD seemed to have a better low end (but thats my ears in the wife's system in a crappy room). Over all the Khartago was a more enjoyable amp. Runs quite warm so have decent ventilation!

I have the khartago paired up with a nice Denon AVR-4800 reciever.  The denon is rated at 145wpc and must have excellent amps.  I have not been able to tell a difference between the khartago and my denon yet but I have only had it 3 days.
