setting hz in audio midi
« on: 11 May 2012, 04:13 pm »
What am I doing wrong?
I changed the hz rate in the audiomidi set up from 44100 to 96000 hz for my EE DAC plus. I assume this is what I need to do to play the hi rez 96/24 flac files I have dowloaded. (using Audirvana to play)

However every time I reopen Auio Midi settings it has reverted to 44100.

1. Anyway to lock in the 96000 hz rate so I don't have to manually change this each time I want to play hi rez?
2. if so, will the setting mean that 441000 files get upsampled? any good/ bad effects?

thanks

Tom

If you have the EE, you should set it to the highest the dac will do, I think when you look at the midi, it shows what the last sample rate played was
Please correct me if I'm wrong

I think you got that right. Kept midi open and played differerent files and saw the midi adjust the rate from track to track.Seems to be good. Thanks alot for that info
