Anyone that owns one of these tables, knows that they park with the tonearm and que pad in the "up" position. The solution was to remove the que pad when you wanted to do alignment or set VTF.
However, today I loaded in a new cartridge and, on a whim, tried another idea and it worked, at least on the PS-X7. Simply start playing a record, cut power and immediately stop the platter.
The queing lever will work and you can drop the tonearm all the way down to the record surface. This will allow you to do alignments and measure VTF.
Sometimes just can't see the forest for the trees.......
