Every once in a while I stumble onto a track that sounds excellent and I realize it's a bit of a system tester. If you know of such a track please post. 

Track: "Felt Mountain", Goldfrapp; from the album of the same title ("electronic" music from 2000). Sparse ample soundstage. Vocals omni, but percussion well isolated. Remarkable bass line, and that's where I sat up and really took notice, bass never sounded so complete and correct.

Overall test result: remarkable tonal balance, bass sounds just like another instrument and makes a wonderful duet with the mezzo girl hitting her high notes. Imaging is very nice, very musical. Dynamics are more or less all there but it's not a track that sounds "live" by nature. Tonal and thematic separation between instruments is kinda breath-taking, there is no impediment to "conducting" the performers and telling them to speed it up or stop missing that note, etc.

Is maybe a little hard to find, but look for the inital relaease of Billy Thorpe's Children of the Sun. The intro tracks have LOTS of low level information, panning special effects and a great drum solo.....the re-release on LP is OK, but not nearly as good as the original vinyl.

Just ordered the Felt Mountain from Amazon.  One of my favorites in the electronic music world is Amon Duul II-Fool Moon "tick tock."  A great song that will test the limits of your system in dynamics and in depth resolution.

Anything by INXS. What a killer band in every respect. RIP Michael Hutchence. He left way too early.

 Although not one track, The Chieftans "Tears of Stone. With the notes by Jim Smith in his book "Get Better Sound", becomes a system set up CD. I find it invaluable and the music is really good, as well.
