Ipod 160??
« on: 21 Apr 2012, 03:04 am »
Why doesn't apple produce a higher capacity Ipod instead of the 160 w that little small screen?  I've been thinking about purchasing one however, I'm not sure if in the future they will bring something nicer, bigger etc.

What do you guys think???

Because the market for that size capacity is fairly small.  They've kept the old 160GB Classic around to serve that niche market, but it's not likely that they would offer a Touch model with a hard drive.

As memory continues to get cheaper, you could see a 128GB iPod Touch in a few years, but I doubt that you will see a 256GB model for some time, if at all.

Apple is still selling them at $249 give or take, I've come across them on Amazon listed way cheaper but of course with scratches, etc.  Little side note notes on the selling page.  I would love to get my hands on one thats for sure.

I will check Craigslist, will see~   Thanks

Friend of mine had a classic, hard drive failed just out of warranty. Might be worth a search to see if this is a rarity or not.

Had a chance to find one pretty new w barely any signs of use on my local Craigslist however, it had has content, movies, music etc and I can't seem to sync the movie and music content w my iTunes.  Any reason for this?  I'm no expert on using an Ipod

iTunes won't let you synch previously loaded info back to the computer.   There are some relatively inexpensive aftermarket programs that will however.  Google is your friend.  :D

Try putting your iPod in "hard disc mode" (IIRC).  Then it will appear as a hard drive on your desk top and you can manually move the files off the iPod to another hard drive.  If you want any of that material in your iTunes, you simply chose "add to library" from the iTunes drop-down menu (if you're on a Mac) and point it to the data you wish to incorporate.  Good luck.  Cordially,
