Dick Clark passed away today. My buddies & our girlfriends used to watch him & Bandstand on sat mornings, then Don Cornelius & SoulTrain in the afternoon.

A sad day. He was the eternal teen advocate, and his contribution to music was unmatched. May he rest in peace, and all he brought us with American Bandstand be remembered for the positive influence it was.

I grew up watching Bandstand. It was about the only thing on TV where you could see the Rock n' Rollers doing their stuff.

One thing about getting old is everything you remember goes away.  :(

I grew up watching Bandstand as well.  I remember Pink Floyd's first American TV appearance.  Dick asked them if they had any American Food and they indicated the first thing they are was a cheeseburger.

I am sure I'll be the lone dissenter here... Good Riddance. That guy did a lot of evil, most notably pre-AB.
