Bryston with Dynaudio and Devore speakers
« on: 19 Apr 2012, 03:48 pm »
This is for a second music system in my living room that is powered by a pair of Bryston 7B-SST monoblocks.  Long story short, but we recently moved and the room requires tower speakers with a smaller footprint.  I had narrowed my search for speakers to the Totem Forests and thought they mated really well with the Brystons. However, now my wife wants a pair of speakers that would "work" with the walnut floors (aka, speakers with a walnut finish).  So while I am not happy with the decision to move away from the Totem's (thank goodness this is for the second and not primary music system), I am looking at either the Dynaudio Focus 260 or the Devore Super 8.  Anybody have experience mating Bryston's with either of these two speakers? Of course, I will audition both, but before I ventured out, I thought I would see if anyone had experiences with either of these speakers.

Thanks
Sanjiv

you should also look at Salk speakers. i have ht2-tl's driven with a Bryston 4 bsst2 and really like them.before i had heard about Salk i went to check out the Totem forest's but the local dealer just ignored me (what a moron).the Salks wound up being less money that the forests with the nicer finish www.salksound.com. i'm not familiar with the devore speakers but the dynaudio focus 260's were nice

Hi,

I haven't heard the Focus 260, but I have been running my Contour S 1.4 (an the S C, S R) on Bryston gear exclusively for the past ten years or so in my home theater setup. I am also using a Focus 110A, driven by a BP25 in my primary stereo setup, a Audience 42 in the kitchen, driven by a B60 and a pair of BM5A MKII driven by a SP1.7 in the bedroom. Needless to say that I am quite happy with the Bryston/Dynaudio combos I am using.  8)

Just give them a try!

Cheers!
