will a crown xls2500 work with the LS-9?
« on: 16 Apr 2012, 01:02 am »
 sorry guys to sound like a cheapo, but will the crown xls2500 work okay with a pair of LS-9?
the crown puts out 440 watts x 2 @ 8ohms.

i couldn't find any topics on this, probably because it's not acceptable as a good amp for higher end speakers. i dont have much of a budget after i buy the LS-9's and this is the only amp i could find that was inexpensive and that had enough horses to power the towers.

any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I don't see why it wouldn't work.  The 9's need power, and you should get at least 200 wpc @8 ohms.  What are you planning on using for a preamp?

:D thank you for your reply Scott. i have a denon AVR891. it is a 7.1 surround sound receiver i bought about a year ago.

on that note, how do i hook up an amp to my Denon? do i just plug the two front channels up to the amp and i am good to go? or is there something else i need? thank you for your help.
