Hi Folks,

We shared a room with AIX records, B&W Speakers and JVC this year in a 3D surround setup using the SP-3 and five 7B SST2 amplifiers.

Short Axpona show report

The 3D video and 5 channel room that AIX records (Bryston) set up was fantastic. That is coming from a person who is not that into 3d!

AXPONA 2012 Show Report
Show Coverage By A. Colin Flood

I, Mr. A. Colin Flood, am now a regular at AXPONA – haven't missed a year since they started! Why do I go?

Few high-end, audio-visual retail stores in my area. Convenient, entertaining, informative and not too expensive weekend. Stimulating seminars with experts. Something to do with friends from my Suncoast Audiophile Society (Meet up.com). Another way to enjoy the hobby. At AXPONA, you can see, and hear, some amazingly cool stuff:

And for me, after more than a decade of writing audio reviews, a chance to act wise (and nervous) on a panel of real experts.

AIX Records

There are a few rooms with sheer sound perfection quality at AXPONA, and AIX is certainly one of them. AIX is partnering with Dolby Labs, Bryston, Oppo Digital, JVC, B&W, Benchmark and DH Labs. They are demonstrating new 2D and 3D music productions from AIX using Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D software encoded with Dolby TrueHD lossless encoding played back through an Oppo Digital BDP-95 hybrid Blu-ray player using the HDMI outputs to the new Bryston SP-3 A/V Processor, which will do the digital to analog conversion.

The Bryston will provide volume control and state-of-the-art conversion through balanced DH Labs interconnects to massive Bryston 7B 600-watt monoblock amplifiers...one for each of the five main loudspeakers!  The speakers at B&W 802Ds for the fronts, and B&W 804Ds for the surrounds. There was also a DB1 sub-woofer from B&W. The video output of the Oppo player will be routed via HDMI to the JVC 3D Projector Model DLA-RS65U3D to an eight-foot wide Stewart FilmScreen Reflections 170 screen. Mark Waldrep, of AIX Records, gave the keynote noon address for the show on both Friday and Saturday.

Well there's a nice shot for B&W for those wondering about the synergy. Before PMC , Bowers offered to partner up with Bryston but PMC had already made a deal  ( as I was informed by my local dealer back around 2001 or so).  Perhaps this is not so but James would know more. Any way  they're all great products. :thumb:

Axpona 2012 Audiophile Show Report

By: Dr. Ken Taraszka, March 19, 20AIX Records

AIX Records was showing off their new 3D Blu-ray music with a full Bowers & Wilkins speaker system powered by Bryston electronics and fronted by an Oppo BDP-95. A JVC D-ILA projector was also in effect.

I'll admit, I am not a fan of 3D but the ‘music’ in the AIX room was just fantastic.

The sound was open and spacious and well balanced around the room. They are making some of the most important recordings going today in terms of cutting edge audio AND video experiences. Perhaps its my glasses, my eyes or something else - I just can't get into 3D but I don't care as I am glad that I know about AIX. You should too as I guarantee that it will blow your mind 7.1 different HD ways.
