I'm wondering if any of you members have an album of his or know sombody who does. I have "Gone" on the Warner Bros label and it's a mover. He was a frequent customer of mine when I was in business with Hertz in Fort Worth, Tx. He and his wife would cab in from the airport and see me when they would be coming back from L.A. and rent from me. His own albums never sold well, but, damn, he was a superb singer, guitar player, and composer! "Gone" was released at the same time, 1979, as Rickie Lee Jones' first Warner Bros album and WB threw all their marketing energy behind her album. That's what he told me. He penned songs like Givin It Up For Your Love, I've Got Dreams to Remember, See What Love Can Do, Save Your Love and countless others recorded by musicians such as Eric Clapton, BB King, Bonnie Raitt, The Doobie Brothers, Nicky Hopkins, Johnny Winter and many more. I was googling the man just having listened to "Gone" and learned that he died in 2005. One of his albums is available on Amazon and I expect some singles are available around for downloading. This man may be the best songwriter and composer/arranger you probably never heard of IMO. Check out "Gone" and "Easy On Yourself", especially, if you can and will. The guy was a musician's musician and a HUGE talent.
