I really don't understand why these people do such foolish things. It's just not that good.

I just don't get it.........

Foolish or not, collectors so often drop a big bundle to shelf them up as a show off. Workable or not don't matter to them at all.

Likewise I like old radios. I'm sorta kinda an antique/vintage tube radios collector BUT with a low low budget. I picked up 2 dirt cheap, one from garage sale & one from an old radio shop. My requirement is they MUST be working. Or I'll fix them.

Fair exchange is no robbery and worth is like beauty, it's in the eye of the beholder.

Some vintage is art and we can decide its worth.
Things I lusted for once still attract me even now that they are old, used and in my budget.

Make no mistake, if it sounded good then, it does today.

Hey!

I agreed with you that some vintage stuffs are work of art.

And yes in some case some still sound great even by today's standard. :D This seems to be the case with some vintage TTs out there.

Take care,
