One of my favorite artists, Glen Hansard, is releasing his first solo album on June 19th.  He is doing a few solo shows in support of the album before going back on tour opening for Eddie Vedder.
I snagged Orchestra seats at the Beacon Theater for the June 29 show.  Can't wait   

Then I started looking around for a show the following night and found Cassandra Wilson at the Blue Note.
I think that will be a good show as well.

A quick 2-day trip, but I get to see two artists I really like in good, small venues. 
Plus I get to practice my burgeoning photographic hobby on some great architecture.

I've been to Glen's concerts twice in the past two years, once to hear the Frames and the other time for the Swell Season.  Have a great time!

Saw the Swell Season in Albuquerque and Houston.
Loved Glen's solo, unamplified intro

Then saw the Frames in Dublin (December 2010).  Back to back nights in 2 different venues.
That was my first overseas trip 

The Beacon should be a great venue
