Contact Dan Wright, I'm pretty sure he told me this would be an excellant platform to mod.

This was a long time ago, could have been a year or more ago IIRC, and the 8260 had  been discontinued at that time and replaced with something not nearly as good, the 8300.

If you do a search on "8260" on HD, you will find lots of great info.

I have one for over a year, replaced my Pioneer 47a, for cd and sacd, I still using the 47a in my media room.(video only), compared with dio mensa dac and the 8260 sound better, right now I have the P3 dac stock and I get more clear sound in the mid, and some inprovement in the bass. The 8260 is or was a good plyer for the money, I spoke with modwright about mod. I may do it soon.
