My son bellyached afterward as I had to sit on the floor, in front of the audience, in order to get the shot. I guess he was planning on going farther out into the crowd so I cramped his style. There simply was no other place to shoot that close.

I've lived in Texas and been to Alberta twice.  Except for the carpenter (Ken) in Calgary that scammed me on an ebay sale, I find the people in Canada much nicer.  And they speak real English!

Thunder: People in Alberta are real nice. Economy is good. You would not believe how many 50-80 grand lift trucks there are ripping around. Our local Dodge dealer said for every 50 trucks they sell they might sell 5 cars. I heard the other day from the Alberta throne speech that Alberta created more jobs in 2011 than all of the U.S.     It's that Jed Clampett's oil.

Music style reminds me a bit of my favorite Canadian group, Tanglefoot.  Songs that deal with the Canadian (eh?) experience, from the maritimes and New England, lumberjacks, gold rush, War of 1812 and others.  Great variety that reminds me of the early Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.  Celtic, French-Canadian influences abound.  Great singing and playing, excellent recordings, fun stuff.

That was a unique song for those groups. Never heard one like it. So hillbilly.

They usually sing choir songs, as you can see on the HDAudioShop channel. For the desert concert they do more rock melodies as the song Africa from Toto and a group of songs from the 50s and 60s.

Speaking of frogs, I am as froggy as they get with both sides of the family French and immigrating to Canada in the mid 1600s and mid 1700s respectively. I guess that makes me as Canadian as they come. Yet, even I am turned off of Quebec. At least their politics.
