Rewiring a MS DD-24 TT
« on: 24 Jan 2012, 04:58 pm »
Hello all,

I am repairing a friends MS DD-24 he bought. Sadly he got hosed in the deal, but it should be an easy repair.

The wires from the tonearm are cut off. Easy to reattach, but first question is how do I strip wires this small? Or in the process of soldering will the insulation melt exposing the copper to the solder? Doubtful, but they are so tiny.

More questions to come as there are a few more issues  and thank you in advance for any and all help.

Thanks,
Ray

OKay, I have rewired the tonearm no problem, but the DD-24 runs at un-regulated speed.

Any ideas how to get it to run 33/45?  33/45 switch and pitch control dial are ineffective.

Thanks,
Ray

pic if innards-all look fine.
