Hey jvc check out MY smoke Pic!

Your smoke pics reminded me of this:

I live right off the foothills in Littleton Colorado and one night driving home I saw this. I had to run back to the Condo to get my camera. It's a funny thing I must have taken 30 shots, none of them turned out. Then the last shot I decided to try to do something completely different with the aperture/shutter and light balance.

I don't think there was any property damage as it was mostly on the foothills and the houses are below it.

Big smoke! It came out pretty good. Looks like a good size fire.
Was it started on purpose, or was it a lightning strike? Can't tell if those spots are stars or not.
Around here, people will sometimes start a fire on their property. It's supposed to be good for the soil somehow. Potash maybe? I don't remember.

Try some pics of the smoke from matches, like I did. Use the big kitchen matches, or the real long ones, like you use to light a fireplace.
I basically told how to do it, in the other thread. Don't hurt to try. Focus on the match head.

Yep this one was taken at night. I believe I used a 10' exposure time to give the smoke that really hazzy look. I think this was accidental or caused by hooligans. There is no farm land out there. As a matter of fact that is part of park land I think.

Any way I will definately try some smoke shots. I've got some ideas I want to try with it. :thumb:
