New to the forum

Background: Engineer by education, business entrepreneur by career, audiophile by heart.
Design Process (just a fraction):
- My passion is building speakers. My obsession is to achieve an extreme high performance.
- I use high quality Earthworks and Audix calibrated measurement microphones, RME Audio interface, high
performance Sony Vaio laptops, and SoundEasy/Praxis/LspCAD/LEAP speaker measuring/modeling
software.
- On axis SPL of +/-1.0-1.75dB from 200Hz-10,000kHz.
- Smooth off-axis and power response.
- Crossover slopes chosen only after taking driver's frequency response, off-axis response, and distortion
(both linear and non-linear) into consideration.
- Printed performance graph(s) will be provided with each loudspeaker.
- I build only monitors, with the largest cabinet of 1.0 cubic feet (28.5 liters). They can include anything
from 4" to 8" woofers, mid-woofer, and midranges. With designs that are fullrange, 2-ways, and 3-ways,
ported, or sealed, horns, ribbon tweeters, coaxial drivers, etc.
- For home theater, I would recommend using an identical speaker (to the fronts) for the center channel.
This speaker should be set up vertically and not on its side.
- For subwoofers, I strongly endorse the following brands:
http://www.bkelec.com/ ,
http://www.rythmikaudio.com/ , and
http://www.jlaudio.com/Budget Line:
- $1100pr. this includes any and all PayPal fees, shipping within United States, etc.
- The only corners cut in the budget line are in the quality and, or absence of certain building materials and
not in the overall performance. I.E. only a single set of Bennic binding posts, cabinet damping may include
just a self adhesive Part Express acoustic foam, woofers, mid-woofer, and, or midranges may not be flush
mounted, wood screws instead of bolts, etc.
High End Line (the Budget Line is similar, except for what's mentioned above):
- $1700pr. this includes any and all PayPal fees, shipping within United States, etc.
- Drivers that have an average cost of $75 each. For example in a 2-way, the woofer can be $100 each
and the tweeter $50 each.
- Printed circuit boards for the crossover.
- Solen, Erse, SoniCap, Jantzen matched capacitors.
- Mills MRA12 resistors.
- Jantzen, or Erse inductors.
- Any cabinet from Parts Express, or Madisound. Black piano gloss, maple, or cherry finish. Straight, or
curved walls. Magnetic grills.
- A combination of Whispermat, PE self adhesive foam, Acousta-Stuf, Dynamat, and bubble wrap for
cabinet dampening.
- Every driver and part mounted with a bolt and not a wood screw.
- 12AWG Teflon insulated wire, stranded and silver plated.
- All driver flush mounted to the baffle.
- High quality composite gaskets throughout.
- Dual set of high quality binding posts (Cardas, Vampire, etc.) with high quality jumpers made out of
Teflon insulated wire and featuring either spades, or locking bananas.
Ultimate Line (includes everything mentioned above):
- $2400pr. this includes any and all PayPal fees, shipping within United States, etc.
- High end drivers from Seas Excell, Scan-Speak Revelator/Illuminator, Accuton, etc.
- High end matched capacitors from Mundorf, ClarityCap, Audio Note, Jensen, SuperCap, etc.
- Custom internal cabinet bracing using a metal skeleton.
NOTE: I will also work with extremely expensive components, but for an additional charge. Some of them include: Scan-Speak beryllium tweeters, Accuton diamond tweeters, Duelund capacitors, Mundorf Silver/Gold in Oil capacitors, etc.
I will take on any reasonable project and request, so long as the absolutely extreme performance requirements are not compromised.
I'm looking forward to speaking with you and building amazing speakers
