I haven't been there in years but LaCrosse is very nice.  You are right about being a hike!  It's too bad because I'd like to hear your system.  I've never heard a Frugal Horn system like yours.  I really like the sound I'm getting from my traditional setup but appreciate strengths of all kinds of systems.  In a perfect world, I'd have four or five systems!

Cheers,

J

?what happens if you made the frugal an 8 inch wide cab and then proportionally adapted it to fit and 8 inch driver..  ???

You likely end with a mess. We have tried to scale FH3 for larger drivers and we have not met with success. Personally i don't care much, since i feel the sweet spot for FRs is 4-5" -- larger drivers give up too much midrange finesse. If you want back what you lose to a larger driver, add a pair of powered woofers (note that i did not say subwoofers)

If you really wanna go 8" FR in a BLH,  you'll likely be looking at something like BIB, Ron Clarke's Dallas, or for really big scale Woden Vulcan - dual rear mouth.

And to echo Dave's post above, and other folks' sentiments,  whether related to BLH types or not,  4"or so seems to be a really sweet spot for FR drivers - and very easy to add (multiple)  woofers in compact enclosures for bass support - for music only, or HT

Ok, I am going to build the triangle rear baffles/reflection for behind my speakers. I would like to include a driver to reach some of the lower freq. Does anyone have the dimensions for ones that they are using? Can I put the driver on the front two angled sides (using two drivers) or should I put it on the back facing the wall/corner? Also, could I down fire it instead? All suggestions would be great... Thanks Folks.

Here's my solution to increase Mk3 bass when you can't stick them in  corners. These are Alpha 15A FR bass speakers in a simple open baffles.

Moved them to corners, and has slanted ceiling too....super improved sound, much lower on the bottom end and the owner is extremely happy.  It is now a 3 watt bedroom system.  I am looking forward to trying the Wyred for Sound Udac next month with an Apple TV2...
