Hey everyone,
I've recently moved my main speakers into my HT room, and am working on slowly upgrading the room acoustics. My room is 16'-7"x14'-5"x8', with the speakers being on the long wall. However, my room is sort of sectioned off as there is an entry area that's open and a kick out, which is where my speakers sit in front of, and where the tv is. I've attached pictures for a better idea. The speakers are 3'6" from the back wall to the back of the speaker, 4' from the side wall, 8' apart, and 9'-6" from my listening seat.
I currently have bass traps behind my mains. I really enjoyed the improvement I got from just adding the bass traps, which is why I want more, but I don't know where to go. I considered buying a sofit trap, or three, and laying them across the back wall behind my couch. My couch sits about 2 feet off the back wall. I can't stand them in the corners due to window sills/windows getting in the way. Would the traps still be effective, or is there a better solution to treat my room? I've also considered treating the wall where my movie posters are, but would really like to keep them and address bass issues first. Also, should I try to squeeze some more traps in the kick out area behind my speakers? Here are pictures of the setup,
