Hi.
When I have turned my stereo on and is not playing music (sound), I can hear a constant buzzing sound from my speakers.
The sound is heard from normal volume levels and above. The higher the volume is turned, the higher buzzing sound.

My speakers are B&W 804 Nautilus and my amplifier is a 100 Watts integrated high quality amplifier (but not Bryston, unfortunately).

a) Is this buzzing sound depending on the amplifier used ?
Is it depending on the pre-amplifier also ?

b) If yes on a): Is it any hope that the buzzing sound would disappear (*) if I bought a very powerful amplifier which measures excellent ?
Would for instance an amplifier like the 28b sst2 have solved the problem ?
(the buzzing sound is more of an annoying problem than a big problem)

(*): On normal to high sound levels, but not necessarily extremely high.

A quasi-fix to the problem is to turn the amplifier to a line not used, for instance televison sound output.

The hum or buzz has very little to do with how powerful your amplifier is or how well it measures.

Unplug all inputs from the integrated amplifier.  Only the speakers and power should be connected to your integrated.  Power your integrated on.  Without inputs connected, does it make the buzz?

I unplugged the tuner (radio) cable... and ... YES!! Noise is away :)
Thank you!

The problem is a ground loop caused by your cable connection. You need an isolator, something like this.
This one is available in Europe (I have 2 in my system), I am positive you can find someting similar on the US market. It prevents the ground loop and as a bonus it improves image quality on your TV considerably.
