The band is not my cup of tea but someone might be interested.

"Between 1987 and 2003, Fugazi played over 1000 concerts in all 50 states and all over the world. Over 800 of these shows were recorded by the band's sound engineers. The goal of this project is to make each of these recordings available to download for a small fee. We will start with 130 shows and release more monthly until we're done. A searchable archive lists each show along with available photos, flyers and general show info. Each listing with a download offers a streaming preview of material for sound quality as well as the reading and posting of comments on the show and the recording."

Here is a recent interview with Fugazi's Ian MacKaye about the massive release.

This band is my cup of tea. One of my favorites of all time and so formative for me. But it should also be noted that their suggested price is $5 per show. Though they allow you to choose to pay anywhere from $1.00-$200 if you choose.

If only they were in FLAC...

... and so formative for me.

We formed at different points in time. I remember when Mairzy Doats was regularly played on the radio.

Yes, and I don't think Fugazi ever played on The Lawrence Welk Show.

Here are some great clips of Fugazi live (audio quality less good, but a great sense of what a show if like):

And the kept ticket prices for their shows at $5 for all or the vast majority of their shows.

And a great 40 minute compilation of Fugazi stage banter...

That said, their later albums are fabulous musically, well arranged and recorded. Classic Fugazi highlights are 13 Songs and Repeater. Later Fugazi greats are The Argument and End Hits.

OK, I know what I'm listenting to this afternoon.

I saw a lot of these shows back in the day, once 4 shows in 5 nights.  all that entertainment for $20.  Ian's latest band, The Evens, is recorded very well and and sounds great on vinyl.

Yeah The Evens are great. And less heavy than Fugazi for those turned of by Fugazi's heaviness.
