Amazon Gold Box Link

Amazon has the KitchenAid Professional 600 6 quart stand mixer in the Gold Box today for $250.99, with free shipping for Prime members. This is KitchenAid's top of the line stand mixer, it has an MSRP of $500 and typically sells for $375-$425, so this is a fantastic price.

There's also a $50 mail in rebate with this bringing the price down to $209.

I can't believe I missed the rebate notice.

I'm not a baker, but I'm giving serious thought to getting this mixer anyway.

FYI, the rebate notice has been removed from the listing after KitchenAid verified that this model is NOT eligible for the rebate. The Amazon reviews for this model are pretty bad, listing several problems including motor burnout. I was in the market for one but I'm going to wait until Costco has it back in stock at a very similar price as if there are any roblems I won't have any hassles returning it.
Edit: Lots of confusion on te Amazon page for this deal but the consensus seems to be that KitchenAid will honor the rebate. It seems that the model number listed is by Amazon is incorrect but one customer was told that the box it comes in will have the correct rebate-eligible model #. It also does have the metal gearbox so should be fairly durable.

the $100+ off is a great deal. online they are around $375.

I bought mine (Pro 600 6qt) last year and it's quite the machine. the larger capacity is good for doughs. I am a baker-wanna-be. it is hard to tuck away though, it is very tall, and not great for those with limited counter and/or cabinet space (which I lack)
