It's not an album, but I think the Star Wars Holiday Special probably jumped the shark even before Fonzie.  That's the gold standard of bad television pretty much.  But of course that wasn't a late-career blunder.  It was an early-success misstep that didn't ruin the franchise, which would occur many years and many millions of dollars later.

Okay, I was wrong, Star Wars jumped the shark a year after Fonzie did.  But it was more horrible by far.

nathan,
I can picture that "I am Santa Claus" in my head right now.  Thanks so much for that cover.
That Star Wars Holiday Special was...just...so...bad...
It made me want to go over to the dark side.

I have it on vinyl or cassette and it is soooo bad!
But their first album, with Lucky Man, was my go to cut in the 70's to test my buddy's systems.  I thought it did a better job of testing the highs and lows versus Deep Purple's "Highway Star".

My Pink Island copy of that album is one of my reference vinyl sources. At the end of the song Knife Edge, the bass is so intense it rattles things off the walls on the floor above my listening room.  :green:

Mitsuman,
Isn't that bass amazing???
Nathan has me going...
This old movie looks like a Flaming Lips production.
I think that Mystery Science Theater did a send up on this movie.  I mean everybody did...

The Jethro Tull Xmas album isn't bad. It has the classic Tull sound. Fans of the band would dig it.
