It's an online forum, EVERYONE is an unknown guy. 

One takes a gamble with pretty much EVERY internet transaction.  A buyer can send money via Paypal and the seller never ship.  A seller can ship and the buyer can say the item is defective, damaged or not as advertised.  Paypal will reverse charges with the swiftness.

You beat me to it!  I would never send something out without getting the money first.  As a buyer, I would check for feedback.  Sorry for breaking in on this thread but I didn't want the seller to get ripped off.  I've bought and sold lots of things in the Audiocircle classified section and have never been ripped off.  I've only transacted with "regulars" or people with feedback on another site.  I've also verified that the person claiming to have feedback on another site (audiogon or ebay) was in fact the person they claimed to be!

Good luck with the sale.
