Hello everyone I am wondering if anyone has used the ava preamp with headphones and what their impressions were?

Headphones sound great with the built in headphone amps in all AVA preamps.

I run Sennheiser HD 600s with my Avastar. The sound is excellent! No complaints here.

Grado 225SRi with an AvaStar. Great sounding! Not a big headphone fan but since I tried it I now listen everynight when the house quiets down. Very impressive how clean and detailed it is. Normally I don't get much soundstage with cans but this combo has a realistic stage and it doesn't feel like I'm stuck in a hole like I normally feel. Nice wide open feeling and the front to back placement of instruments and vocals is much better than I was used to hearing.

Just got a pair of Grado SR325is 'phones. Plugged into my T8 headphone jack and I'm hearing things I never heard before. Best headphone experience I've ever had. Highly recommended!!

I have a AVA Insight + Preamp...used AKG 702's, Audio Technia M50's and recently Audeze LCD 2's.

All work very well in the Preamp...doing A/B testing its hard to tell any real world difference.

I have played with several discrete headphone amps as well. The Insight + headphone section is superb.

I use Grado SR 80i with my Insight preamp occassionally. They sound great!
