Thanks Ryan, and Heather! It was great to meet both of you, and I certainly enjoyed your speakers, Ryan. Always nice to see the GAS guys. It's been way too long. Gotta get back to fine tuning my system. This was indeed an inspiration. Thanks again.

thanks Ryan and Heather for being such good hosts.  I had a great time bouncing from your brand new basement room(carpet laid yesterday) to the front room upstairs.  Btw, your friend Lawrence did some incredible work and I thought inset ceiling tiles were a classy touch.   :thumb:
I think you really have something special there with the new Aurora speakers and can't wait to see them with the veneer in place.  Your chosen Audio Technology C-Quenze bass drivers always make your stand mounted two ways musical and ballsy performers.  The SAS KT88 based amp seemed to do a really nice job as well.

It was nice to see some familiar faces again and get a chance to bs audio.
Thanks again for hosting the event and look forward to seeing the room with all the touches in place.

The RAAL tweeters are something else, holy crap.

I ended up staying until 11:30. We got to swap amps & Ryan even put the whole system on battery power    :D

Thanks again to Ryan & Heather for having everyone over.

I missed all the gunplay, but got to hear Trent Reznor in a way i never could've imagined.  That tree probably deserved it anyway!

The SAS monoblocks & preamp were a treat.  The niteshade SET did pretty good with the Breeze, but the monitors liked SAS power.

Nice to meet everyone today.

A big thank you to Ryan and Heather a great get-together!  As always, I learned a lot about the current state of high end hi-fi from Ryan, both by listening to his speakers and his patient explanations. His demeanor and knowledge are a great benefit to GAS. It inspires me to continue on my various hi-fi restoration projects.

Ken
P.S.  It was fun doing the wood harvesting  with the .45ACP, 9MM, et cetra.   I'll post the photos after I finish mowing the yard and other honey-do's.

What a great day, a week full of 16 hour days paid off!  Thanks to everyone who took time out of their weekend to come.  You all need to drink more beer next time though, there's about 2 cases left over ... not that I'm complaining  :D

Special thanks Ken for bringing all the folding chairs, and the big hunk of cheese.  And Bernie for bring the SAS Audio Labs gear, Steve's stuff is too good to be so relatively unknown ... hopefully I can help get the word out.  I think the overall sound in both rooms was excellent, it seemed as though it all came together as well as I could hope.

That tree sure went down easy, next time we'll have to try for something a bit bigger.  And need to get an earlier start on the shooting next time ... oh, and  promise to put together some more interesting target choices.

How about another get-together in two weeks on Oct 8th?  I'll have even more stuff to hear, including a completed Cirrus.  I'll also have some new electronics that I'll be reviewing for Stereomojo.

hi Ryan,

from the 5 minutes I heard the Breeze upstairs I really liked it.  What ribbon are you using on the top end there?

&, would that driver mate well to the 8" on your Aurora's?

Ryan, just want to say thanks for a great time. I really enjoyed seeing everyone, and was really impressed with the speakers. Hope to make it out again so I can hear the Vapor's in action.  I also would like to give your wife a big thank you for putting up with us and letting us take over her house.

Sure wish I could have been there.  You can bet I won't miss the next one.

Glad to see some positive impressions of the Aurora.

Anxious to see the finish Ryan has in store.

You guys haven't met Pete yet, but you will soon.  He's an Electrical Engineer whose former employer didn't apprecite his talents, and has been dying to work more for less pay ... and being a mad speaker scientist like myself, I said I know just the place.  Pete was "Project Manager" for the Aurora, and is also working with our curvy cabinet maker Ed to put together a similar looking floorstander that will be called Nimbus.

Pete, Ed, and myself are becoming a prolific team of builders.  Next stop, World domination!

I'm not pictured, but i'll take a guess (i don't know everyone).

In the very last picture i think merRev is standing on the far left and dwarfed centipede is sitting in the middle of the couch, not sure who is on the far right (sorry!).

In the back, to our left is the designer & host Ryan (TurboFC3) and to his right is Sturgus.

Hi Gents,

I am sorry I did not make the "fest". If Ryan is going to have another gathering I will try to make it. I will bring my test 7A kit preamplifier, 12A, and 50 watt UL Monoblocks. Bernie and I will work out the details as far as travel arrangements.

Cheers and thanks to Ryan for allowing Bernie to bring my stuff over for the "fest".

I know the person sitting on the right side of the couch, but not sure of his moniker.  (What's your handle, Jon?)

Round 2 listening party, Oct 8th ... I'll start a new thread either tonight or tomorrow morning.  This time I'll have a Cirrus ready, and the Arcus, Aurora, and Breeze.  I think I'll go ahead and setup the 3rd room upstairs also.

Your gear totally kicked butt Steve!  Bernie left it here for me to continue enjoying, so we'll be running it again on the 8th.
