Memory Player

I've been using an MP for the last few years, and after about 33 years of "serious" listening, and as the owner of a few of the state of the art pieces in analog recording, I think the MP is the most "sourceless" audio source I've ever used. I've had a few record producers and engineers over, and a couple have said, after ripping in their discs, that its like listening to the output of a recording desk.

Apparently its been a controversial item on the nets, but its sound is something to take quite seriously. Due to a couple domestic shifts, I could use a little more space around here, and am for the first time ever willing to sell my turntable and not immediately replace it (not selling my vinyl!).

I couldn't listen to CD, ever. But CD files out of this thing are, for me, a pleasure.

I don't know who the manufacturer is any more, Nova Physics or Laufer-Teknik, but hear one if you can.

Welcome to the forum.  Yes, remember reading lots of heated exchanges about it on Audio Asylum. Have not heard it and really don't know much about it.  Here is the website and company history/ownership:

"About The Company

Sam Laufer
President, Laufer Teknik

Sam Laufer, partner and principal investor, purchased The Memory Player and its associated technology from Nova Physics Group in 2007, and has since been working with Mark Porzilli to enhance its performance and manufacturability."
