Crossover assembly help needed (please....)
« on: 21 Oct 2011, 02:24 pm »
Hi Guys,

Dennis Murphy put togehter some crossovers for me a couple years ago (probably more than a couple) and I tried to make some changes (higher quality caps and resistors) but my assembly work leaves a lot to be desired.  They are wired together externally but I think I messed up the wiring.  Is there anyone in the Chicago area who can help sort out the mess I created?  I also purchased new baffles for these (small 2 way speakers in PE enclosures) but have no idea how to route them for new drivers.

I'm not handy but would be willing to compensate the person who helps me out.  They are assembled but my wiring looks like a rat's nest.  I would like to wire them on some peg board in an orderly fashion (like those xovers Dannie Ritchey puts together) if possible.  The crossover wiring is my biggest priority.  The existing baffles are acceptable and a lower priority.

I'm going to be at the Chicago DIY event and would be willing to bring them down.  If we get the crossovers wired properly, I may even fire them up!

Thanks!

Jack

I would contact Dennis and ask him to email you a schematic of your crossover. With that in hand someone local can help you check your work and trouble-shoot it if necessary.
