This is a fantastic DVD player and very unique int he fact that it has coaxial and optical inputs. So it can be used as a standalone DAC.
IT is a beast at close to 40 pounds with separate transformers for the digital and analog power supply.
It retailed for 2500$ back in the days.
I had planned to install a custom I/V stage for the outputs but being pressed for time and the need to downgrade as per the gf's orders, this has to go.
It is a heck of a source and stacks up right alongside many newer 500-750$ DACs.
It comes with Denon's proprietary AL24 processor chip, a CS8414 receiver, PMD100 for HDCD decoding, PCM1704-K grade DAC chips and a solid analog stage.
I would like $350 plus shipping for it. CONUS only for obvious reasons.
The DAC was on par with the Parasound DAC -1100HD and actually beat it out on better details and spatial presentation.
The player still plays CDs and DVDs flawlessly.
I don't have the remote for it though. There is a source selector on the front of the player to go from DVD, Coaxial input or optical input.
I have lots of feedback on head-fi.org
