Hey fellas 

My son aquired a nice little 200 watt Harman Kardon subwoofer with a blown internal amp.
I got his hopes up by telling him we can use one of my old amps, but as fate would have it, it's junk too. 

I was wondering if any of you fellas have an old amp laying around that you're not using. Something about 200watts(ish). A plate amp would be ideal, but anything would work.

Nothing "too" fancy, nothing audiophile, just a regular ol amp.

Anything in your basement in that deep dark corner you're willing to part with?

Hi Bob,

I have a Sony powered subwoofer that I bought new this spring.  I will sell it for $75.  It is a 10 inch and I think is has a 100 W amp.  If you are interested, let me know.  Your son can try it out and see if it is what he wants.  Best, Kent 636-399-8053

Probably not what he needs, but somewhere I have a Belles 150A amp.  It needs the speaker post connections soldered back on, but should be 100%.

Maybe it could be bridged to mono??

Kent, thank you VERY much. I will certainly keep that in mind as the price seems resonable. ALthough, I'd like to keep the little guy's room as cheap as possible. Since I posted, I've received some powered subs with (possibly) bad amps. So I'll tell the boy he made need to start saving his pennies for your sub.

Matt, That sound definitely "do-able". If the amps are bad in the active subs we got, I may be able to Frankenstein something with your amp.

Not sure if it would help but the sub plate amps are on sale at Parts Express right now.  Looks like the 240 watt one is on sale for $98 with free shipping.  He would probably be able to do some damage with that combo.

Neeko, yea I know what you mean. My Dad was a "Ham" (radio) so I grew up with electronics and bells and whistles so I guess it's second nature. Now that my 'gig' is home theater, music, and gaming, I've got a VERY lucky 12 year old boy here.
