Safari & Bryston Max
« on: 25 Aug 2011, 02:32 pm »
Hi

A curious issue. When using the safari browser (Ipad & macbook) while playing Hi res 192 files you will experience breaking up in the  music when switching from the BDP home page to Max.

Try this. Select a 192khz track let it play then push the BDP home button and then select the Max button. As Max loads up you should be able to heard the break up in the music. So far only happens to safari browser with 192 tracks. It does not affect lower resolution files. This behavior is repeatable and only affects Safari it seems.

Anybody else has the same issue?

Hi

When some browsers load the MAX interface they take a large amount of computer resources as does 192/24 playback. Because the MAX browser and Safari are web based and resource hungry when loading and playing 192/24 that is what you are hearing.  Smaller file sizes or different browsers react differently and applications like MPOD and MPAD or GNOME use very little resources.  We are looking at developing a new MAX which will require far less resources.
