Magnepan 1.7 trade-up program announced
« on: 17 Aug 2011, 12:40 am »
I just got word that Magnepan is doing a transferrable Warranty program for those that trade-in their 1.7s for new 3.7s at their dealer.
The remainder of the 3 year Warranty on the 1.7s gets transferred to the "new" owner.  If they're 6 months old, you get 2.5 years worth of Warranty, a year old you get two years, you get the idea.
This is a limited time deal and you now know as much as I do.
Good way to upgrade whether you're trading 1.7s in or buying them used.

I confused one fellow on another site with my transferrable warranty explanation so perhaps I should try to restate this:

If you own a set of 1.7s and trade in your 1.7s towards some 3.7s, you get the full 3.7 Warranty on your new 3.7s.
The next owner of your used 1.7s gets the remainder of the original 1.7 Warranty transferred to him (or her).
The details of all of this will have to be hashed out with your local dealer.

I hope that makes sense, it's been a long week at work!

How many dealers are accepting trade in' for 1.7 to 3.7? Do many dealers take trade ins anymore?
My dealer in MPLS (Audio Perfection) isn't offering trade ins for 1.7 to 3.7 as far as I know.

I believe that this program is for all of them.
When did you last contact your dealer?  This only came out sometime yesterday.
