Using the SP2 Unconventionally
« on: 5 Aug 2011, 07:01 pm »
Quite by accident I discovered I can hook up fronts is both balanced & unbalanced. So now I have 3 sets of fronts used in 2 channel bypass mode. 2 sets connected to the 3B SST2 & 1 set with 2B-LP.

So far I'm preferring the sound over 5 channel stereo surround mode. But I still have un-used speakers.

Switched back to using the SP2 conventionally using Stereo5 Surround mode in analog. Found that Pass Thru mode does the same thing, minus center channel.

So now I have 2 back sets of speakers, bookshelf & floorstander and 2 front sets, bookshelf & floorstander.

As to which sounds better Pass Thru or Stereo5 is matter of preference. The bass in Pass Thru is more pronounced like typical stereo sound. Whereas 5Stereo the upper freq. are more pronounce with less bass vibe, but with center channel matrixed. 8)
