I decided to send my preamp back to Frank to have the phono section installed. Just got it back last night and I spent all evening playing with it like a kid on Christmas morning. Nice job Frank! The phono section sounds wonderful. And the whole darn thing seems to sound better. Might be the new toy effect?? But honestly, seems like the bass reaches deeper and stays really clean and punchy. No mud here. The silent spots are totally black with not even a hint of noise. I find everything about this preamp to be very impressive. Lows, mids, highs....Unveiled musical perfection across the board. I love it.
I "tremble" at the thought of what this might sound like if I upgrade from my Insight + Double 260 to the new Fet Valve 400R!!
