 Looking for the top three 6SN7 that are neutral/airy and musical for my Modwright 5400. Currently using Sophia and have some NOS Sylvania's GTB Chrome Domes coming soon that I hear will spank the Chinese tubes, we'll see in a few day.

Wig, what didn't you like about the Sophia 6SN7 tube? I use a hard to find Russian 6SN7 tube. This tube is open and airy with a HUGE soundstage! Check out Brent Jesse's website.

I've compared many a 6sn7 in my Suprateck preamp, and I find the new Tung Sols really neutral and great sounding.  Since they're cheap, they might be a good one to keep around as a base of comparison while you roll.  I settled on the Black Treasures, but the TSs are not embarassed in their company.

I figured that since it's only two tubes I might as well get some great one. For some reasons, many tube dealers think the Chinese tubes are garbage.
