Just have time to write up a short review so here it is...

Prior to receiving Onix’s top of the line Statement speaker cable to audition, I was running the Onix SP-200 speaker cable (approx $80 for a 10’ pair) which were some of the best bang/buck speaker cable I had tried. After enjoying music with the Onix Statements, the best speaker cable I had demo’d in my system, for a bit over 2 months, I decided it was time to send them back as I could not afford to spend approx $1000 for an 8’ pair of SCs. Unfortunately 2 months with the excellent Statements was enough to spoil me forever as I could no longer accept the sound of the SP-200. It simply did not have the level of detail, transparency, clarity, focus, lack of haziness, and bass extension and output as the Statement. Going back to the SP-200s was no longer an option. So what the heck was I going to find that would be acceptable to my pocketbook as well as being acceptable to my elevated standards for speaker cables.
Enter Mike of CryoTweaks and his new Trinity speaker cable. He suggested that I give these a try since they certainly wouldn’t bankrupt my piggy bank. Based on how he described their performance in his system, I felt it was certainly worth giving them a try especially since he was offering these with a no questions asked return policy like he always does. Upon receiving them, I noticed that they were considerably smaller in diameter and circumference when compared to the beefy Onix Statements. In the back of my mind, I was thinking that there was no way such a scrawny looking little cable will come close to sounding anywhere close to the rather imposing garden hose otherwise known as the Statement.
My CryoTweaks Trinity speaker cable came well constructed and terminated with very high quality Cardas Billett spades on both ends. I hooked them up and began breaking them in. Straight out of the box, they exhibited excellent bass characteristics especially for a sub $200 cable. Bass was clean, tight, fast and extended. The Onix SP-200 sounded bass anemic in a back to back a/b comparison. The highs while detailed, had a bit of tizziness to them that upset the balance. I continued to play them and discovered that the tizziness disappeared after about 25 hours of run time. I decided to compare the Trinity to the Statement cable at this point. To my surprise, the Trinity more than held its own ground! In fact, I discovered that the Trinity was capable of going head to head with the Statement without getting stomped as I feared it might. Bass with the Statement was a little bit cleaner…Mids were a little bit more revealing and highs were a little bit more transparent, focused with additional clarity. Detail was a bit better across the board. But HOLY SMOKES! The Trinity offered about 85-90% of the Statement’s sonic performance for about 15% of the price! No small feat in my book. I can honestly say this is a speaker cable that is not restricting or choking back the sound of my system. Music sounds natural and engaging. The bargain basement price on this high-end sounding speaker cable makes me very willing to accept the small step back in sonics. Those of you who are looking for a speaker cable that can compete with some of the big boys and doesn’t require one month’s worth of paychecks to pay for need to give the Trinity a try. This cable deserves serious consideration!
