Saw the first episode, don't think I can juggle
Sopranos, Shield and Deadwood.
Wasn't too impressed although the hanging at the
beginning was a great start...

I've been assimilated into Deadwood. Keith Carridine's portrayal of Bill Hickok is pretty good and Ian McShane as Swearengen is excellent. Pretty much kills Sunday nights tho, Sopranos and Deadwood back to back. :D

show is loaded with talent-and very well cast, just not sure they were as foul mouthed back then as me and my buddies back in the 80's
i do know they drink less than we did

Who's the guy that plays the 'good' cowboy.  I think he is excellent and I don't recognize him from anywhere.

Swearengen is a mean guy. . .the guy who plays him pulls it off very well.

Carradine is great, too.  Still, my fav is the other former marshal.

Never watched an episode (no HBO), so I don't know the character's name. But if you check here http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0348914/, you'll be able to find out who he is, and where you know him from.
