Just saw the movie "The Mechanic" with Jason Statham and he had what looked like a Project RM-10 turntable with a Jolida intregrated amp. He even cleaned the record before playing.

I've been watching the new USA program "Suits". In episode one the hot shot lawyer has a stereo in his office: was a quick view, but looked like a VPI TT and tube amp. Have been watching for another glimpse.

Dr. Lee Rosen, David Strathairn's characture on the new SyFy show "Alphas", has a turntable in his office.  One scene you see a closeup of a cartridge slowly settling on vinyl and out comes rock n roll. 

Another scene shows Dr Rosen shopping for records and talking about a "Japanese Import".

Some of the writers must be audiophiles!!  Very cool stuff.

and of course, we can't overlook Greg House's SOTA, and varied assortment of tweaky audio gear -

there is a limit to the physical size of "hi-end" gear that can discretely fit in the background in your average office,  but he's had his share over the years.

It appeared that in "Alphas", the speakers being used on a desktop were Spica TC-50's minus grills.

I recall the cartridge looked like a Stanton 681EEE.
