I have wondered about the idea of amp isolation such as heavy plinths or various other means of suspension. Can any one say this helps in the case of amplifiers?

I use SRA for both BP26 and 4BSST2 - http://www.silentrunningaudio.com/products/vr_series_isobase.htm

Very happy with my decision and has ZERO regrets  :thumb:

I would suggest making sure that:
1) your power source is clean,
2) don't tightly stack components,  (nothing looks cooler and drives me nuts when I see a complete Bryston stack without any real separation)
3) look into room treatments,
before worrying about suspension on a solid state component.  I would focus on your cd player and turntable isolation before I would focus on the amp.
